10/10/2014: President Lee's Weekly Message

Greetings friends,

To start off, there are a few members we have not seen in a while. Your club truly misses you. Please come and visit :). We are hoping to take a club photo on October 24th and the more available to be in the picture the better. Please set aside your lunch that Friday and make it a special Friday with your Rotary club.

It was another fun week of Rotary capped off with a full room at our meeting today. THANKS to all who came. A very special thanks to our friend, Mayor and fellow Rotarian Julie Manning for sharing and inspiring.

These recaps will become a little shorter as I realized much of what I was sharing was doubled up from Ben’s weekly email. I will be focusing on a recap of our meeting and any special Prez’ comments . Be sure to read all Rotary emails for pearls and gems that affect your life.

Thanks to Gloria, Ken, Bronwyn, KayDee, Ben and Doug for making today’s meeting run without a hitch. In regards to announcements:

  • We are making progress on the idea for a fundraiser for our club. I will update everyone soon.
  • Be sure to get into contact with Kate Lacy about the upcoming Rotary/OSU Beavers Volleyball night on the 24th of October. It will be a spiking good night.
  • Remember – be sure to send Michele Kellison your 1970’s photos for the upcoming Club Birthday meeting on the 24th of October.
  • Michele is working on organizing a basketball team. I am not tall enough to join, but you may be. Make contact with her to be part.
  • Luann did a great job recognizing our students of the month. I am sure glad this is back. I always love seeing the kids and their parents.
  • Thanks Hutch for the predictions. Go Beavs.
  • Last, but not least – it is super important you make your contribution of $1 for each year you have been in Rotary by October 23rd. The is our big End Polio push for our club. If we have 100% participation, the amount we will raise has some anonymous donors ready to add about a $1000 to the pot. If we are just one or two people short, it will not happen. For most of us, this is just the cost of a couple of cups of expensive coffee. Let’s make this happen!

Next week we will have a presentation by Sage Gardens. We have been supporting them as a club in service projects. Come and learn more about the great work they do in our community.

Thanks everyone and make it a great week. Let me know if you ever need anything.
