12/05/2014: President Lee's Weekly Message

Friends,

Thanks everyone for another great Friday at Rotary. The room was packed and it is apparent we need to start having more tables. That is what I call awesome!!

There is a lot going on in our Club in which we can all plug into, have great fellowshipping and change the world. Each week I try to recap what happened at our meeting and what is happening, but I inevitably miss something. If you ever need a special announcement or I miss something, please let me or Ben/Andy know. Information is powerful. If you need a Friday announcement, try to let me know by 8am on Fridays.

Thanks to all who helped make our meeting happen including our set-up team, greeters and this week Inge King for her Invocation and Lu Ratzlaff for bringing his Rotary Moment. It is so appreciated. This week past member, and soon to be returning member Ron Thiessen delivered a wonderful program on Safe Haven in Tangent and the great work they are doing.
Jeff Davis and Gerry – great job with pulling together our club assembly, announcing the 2015/2016 slate of officers and making magic happen. In addition, a big congratulations to our own Judy Corwin who was announced as our club’s 2016/2017 President. Our club ROCKS!

As a reminder, this coming Friday the 12th is the final day to deliver your Giving Tree Gifts to Josh Pannebaker. You can bring them to our club meeting or drop them by Josh’s work at PT Northwest, 335 NW 4th St, Corvallis, OR 97330

Over the next couple of weeks we have quite a few things happening. Check out the list below. Until Thursday or Friday, enjoy these wonderful holidays, take a moment to visit the Pastega Lights and be sure to give others a special smile. Make it a great week - Lee Eckroth, 541-760-4742

12/11/2014: Community Service Opportunity: Message from Doug Oxsen: “We have an upcoming service project to help CARDV move presents that they have collected from their storage location to their main offices for their annual Christmas present give away for their clients and kids. We helped them last year and had about 15 people volunteer to move presents. This is a big help to CARDV and with many hands we can get this done in no time. Last year the process took about an hour. What is needed is people and importantly bigger cars that can haul the gifts. The date set for the move is next Thursday December 11. We will meet at their storage facility at 4786 SW Philomath Blvd , load the presents and drive them to the main CARDV office on SW 3rd St. Once there we will help them sort the presents into various categories of gifts and put out items for the “store”. We will meet at 5:00 and it should take an hour to 1 ½ hours. Please let me know if you can help. Doug Oxsen 541-737-7486 or email doug.oxsen@oregonstate.edu”
