Friends – it is a another great week to be a Rotarian . Thanks to all who made it to this week’s meeting. I was again encouraged and inspired by the youth of RYLA nation. Thanks so much to Judge Locke Williams for the great work he does in coordinating our RYLA efforts.
Thanks to all who made today’s meeting successful and fun: Jeff Davis for the invocation and pledge, Gerry Kosanovich for his Rotary moment, Jamie Hughes for your intros, Josh and Kelley for handling set-up and the table and Jaime and Dr. Poole for greeting. I appreciate you all.
As a reminder, Fall Festival is right around corner. It is a great weekend. Tom Wirth will be sending out a reminder of who is working when. Even if you are not working – stop by and say hi! Below is a list of some upcoming events and meetings. Make note – we have some great things happening in our club.
Couple more notes from the Pres – Soon Michele and Kathleen will be sharing lots of details about our Rotary Day. I have challenged us as a club that EVERYONE be involved in some way – especially on the day of the event. Whether you are new, have burned out a bit or are riding the Rotary “High” – this event will be a great way for others to share in the Rotary of magic. The Rotary Magic – Service above Self – if what keeps most of us excited about being Rotarians. It truly would be awesome to have ALL of our club out for our Rotary Day especially because it is an opportunity for us to get that group picture which is near impossible to get. Stay tuned and mark Saturday, December 13th on your calendar please.
Soon you will get an email from me regarding our next planned Major fundraiser meeting. Today Kelley Hook stepped up and offered to co-chair the yet to be determined event. We hope at our next meeting to finalize the event, date and plan. Good things are happening as we work on our annual fundraiser.
This is the last call for everyone to complete the club survey that was sent aout a coupel of weeks ago. If you need it resent to you, let me, Dave Henderer or Ben Danley know. As of today, about 1/3 of the club has complete it. We would love to have at least 50%.
Finally, October 24th is our Club Birthday, a day for the Legend’s to speak out and national End Polio Day. Please mark this day on your calendar. My hope is that we can pack the room at the Country Club. This is a special day. Most of your have heard Michele is seeking pictures of you from 1976. Please email those to her at MicheleKellisonRotary@gmail.com In addition, as part of our commitment to Rotary and the Foundation – plus to add a challenge for that meeting and our club – Tom Nelson is leading the efforts to have an eradicate polio fundraiser between now and that day. Everyone is encouraged to donate one dollar to the foundation specifically for polio eradication for each you have been a Rotarian. Let’s make it a great day.
