Greetings Club members. Although your recap is late, it is better late than never.
Last week’s meeting was epic. We were fortunate to have a special invocation from Lorena Reynolds followed by a touching Rotary Moment from Kathleen Hutchinson. Since it was our first Friday of the month Frick and Frack lead us in birthday announcements and we had yummy cake. Al Hutchinson made another OSU prediction and the Beavs won!!! We also had some announcements from Dave Henderer about our upcoming Fall Festival booth and everyone helping with our caught being good program. In the midst of all of these we had a great program by Annette Mills and Dave Eckert about Corvallis becoming a sustainable community.
What made last week Epic – our our Michele Kellison agreed to her own version of the ice bucket challenge. The challenge was put out to the club that she would take the challenge for the Rotary Foundation and be soaked this week for $500 or last week in full on work clothes for $1000. Our club came through and in 120-seconds we raised $1000. In the midst of the she challenged three other members to do the same. So, to Rick Schroff, Ben Danley and myself – Michele has challenged each of us to raise $1000 for the foundation. Lets do it!
Thanks Michele for being such a great sport and Rotarian. Below is a list of upcoming meetings and events. Until this coming Friday – everyone, have a great week.
Yours in Rotary, Lee Eckroth
