Greater Corvallis Rotary opened its 2016-2017 year July 8 with the induction of new member John Slingluff of Bob Grant Construction and the introduction of new board members, committee members, and various volunteers. President Corwin announced 2016-2017 as the Year of 100s. The Rotary Foundation will celebrate is 100th year raising donations for the humanitarian projects. Foundation priorities include promoting peace, fighting disease, providing clean water, saving mothers and children, supporting education and the eradication of polio.
Greater Corvallis Rotary will work locally as 100 members will volunteer 100 minutes of service each! The club will host a Special Needs Picnic on August 18 and its second annual Movie Night, August 25, with the showing of the Wizard of Oz in Avery Park. Pints for Polio will be held Oct. 22 in downtown Corvallis to raise funds toward the eradication of polio.

Greater Corvallis Rotary sponsors Students of the Month, Rotary Scholarships for high school seniors, a youth leadership camp, a high school career fair and middle school essay contest among other community projects.
